Childish David's Texture Photoshop Actions
Texture overlays have become a popular trend in photography.
Especially the perfectly clean and ultra real look of modern
digital cameras makes many photographers look for more
artistic alternative to process their photos.
The childish david Texture Photoshop actions are far more than
just a few texture files that you stack on top of your
photos. The texture action create a series of adjustments that
create a vintage look that sets the mood for the photo. Each
step and layer can easily be adjusted to dial in the effect more or
less. Every aspect is kept as a separate element to be able to adjust
it individually. You are not stuck to one basic look.
The actions come with 56 different high resolution texture
images. You are not limited to only one, but you can add and mix as
many textures as you want. Actually that is what I found to work best
many times. The only limit is your imagination.
The actions are very simple to use and you don't have to load
files by hand. It allows you to use a simple brush to paint the
strength of the texture effect in different areas. Once you are happy
with one texture, a second action will add more texture layers, keeping
all adjustments and masks you have painted. It even copies them to the
newly added texture layer automatically. The idea is really to keep the
process as easy as possible. After all, the whole idea behind actions
is to make long, complicated steps easy and convenient.
I
have tested these actions in all versions of Photoshop from Version 7
and up. They will all work with Photoshop 7, CS, CS2 & CS3.
